This is me, Kari.

I never sleep… almost.

I guess you could say that baking has always been “my thing”.

From the time when I was a little girl being taught by my Grandmother’s how to make cookies, apple crisp, fresh bread and buns all from scratch – to when I was 12 years old and received my “Baking Badge” in Girl Guides (what an accomplishment that was!) – all things baked became my whimsy.

Fast forward many years later to my own wedding and to where the answer to “Where will we get a wedding cake?” naturally became “ME” of course! Everyone thought I was nuts spending the week (and the night) before my own wedding baking and decorating a cake. However, the results were fantastic. Everyone loved it and my fascination (some say obsession) with baking was taken to new heights.

Today, I let every cake be an adventure and a challenge.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How much does a cake cost?

Well, as you have probably found out from other sites (you HAVE looked at other sites haven’t you?) this answer varies based on what you need and how many people you will be serving.

THAT REALLY IS TRUE !!

To start, it really does depend on the complexity of design, the number of people you intend to feed, and what, if any, special circumstances you have (allergies, date required, remote location etc.).

This is something that will be discussed and a price will be established with you based on the specifics of the cake order and your particular budget.

Can I make changes to my cake once the order has been placed?

MINOR changes can be discussed up to 1 week before the cake is finalized for delivery.

The degree of change requested will determine the viability of the change (we can discuss this at your consultation).

We cannot accommodate complete design changes once the order is in process.

Cancellations will only be accepted a minimum of one week in advance of your delivery date.

How far ahead should I make my cake appointment with you?

It would be safe to say the sooner the better!

A schedule will set between us and you will be given direction as to how long before you must make certain decisions if you haven’t already planned everything to a “T” !! (i.e. flavours, colors, themes etc.)

What do I need to bring with me to my cake consultation?

Party date, approximate number of guests, where the party will be held and any other ideas or details you would like included in your cake design (i.e. special flowers, colors, theme etc.)

We will have a list of questions that we will go through with you that will help determine your cake decisions.

This will help us to complete your cake order to your delight.

Would you consider “fake” or Styrofoam layers?

If your cake needs a little help to be an amazing dream, we can certainly discuss “dummy” layer(s).

Please remember, these types of cake WILL take as long to decorate as a baked cake, and the price cannot be reduced.
